SWY20th Anniversary Commemorative Projects
- Projects Initiated from Ex-PY Conference 2007
Background:
- Excerpt from the Report of the Tokyo Conference for the Ex-Participating
Youth of the Ship for World Youth Program 2007
The Tokyo Conference for the Ex-Participating Youth of the Ship for World
Youth Program (hereafter referred to as the Ex-PY Conference) was held
between 17th and 22nd of April, 2007. The participating countries were
Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Fiji, New Zealand, Solomon Islands,
Tonga, U.S.A., Venezuela, and Japan.
During the conference, as one of the outcomes, the delegates agreed to
work on the SWY 20th Anniversary Projects.
1. SWY Calendar 2008
Will make an annual calendar commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the SWY program. Prize-winning photos from the Global Photo Contest, or snapshots of social contribution activities conducted by respective AAs, will be used.

2. "Thank You Book" Chapter Addition
Will add one chapter to the "Thank You Ship for World Youth"
book with messages and photos.
3. Messages to SWY20
Will produce a message board to the SWY20 PYs with words of encouragement from ex-PYs. Collection of messages will be done regionally by AAs, and the message board will be displayed on board Nippon Maru during the SWY20 journey.

4. SWY History
Will create pages by the batch on the SWYAA website, serving to introduce significant achievements of the ex-PYs to AA members and the young public interested in the SWY program. This project aims at compiling all the information of the past 19 programs and reconnecting the ex-PYs of all SWY participating countries.
