Chat Room Entrance

<How to Use the Chat Room>

The Chat Room is a forum of free discussion where short messages are exchanged in real time (well, some time lag involved). We at IYEO welcome your active participation. Here's some ground rules.

• 1. Entrance
  • First write down your name in the box and choose your color that idenfity you on the Chat Room. Then push the "Enter" button to enter the room. Please include the year you participated so that other people know who you are. If your name is not unusual, it would be a good idea to include your nationality, too. For example, Katsumi (5 Japan), Ali (1998, UAE)
• 2. Comment
  • Write down your message in the blank space and push the "Comment/Refresh" button to send it to the Room. You need to push the Comment/Refresh button once in a while to read other people's comments.
  NOTE: The screen will NOT update automatically. You get new messages, if any, only after pushing the button.
• 3. Message
  • Common language is English. Do not use other languages although all people in the chat room have common language except English.
  • Please limit your message to 40 or 50 words at longest. Lengthy messages are hard to read and may discourage other people's participation. Please be considerate not to monopolize the public forum.
• 4. Monologue
  • Sometimes, you may find you are the only person in the room and won't get any response from anybody. It is a good idea to hang around for 10 minutes or so, because there is a time lag before somebody else reads your message and make a comment on it. If you are really alone, don't get discouraged. Try again some time later. Or, why don't you submit your message including when you enter to chat to Bulletin Board. Good luck.
