KEYPERSON'S STATEMENT
I have pleasure in welcoming you on behalf
of all SWYAA participants, to our first annual
report of the "SHIP FOR WORLD YOUTH
ALUMINA ASSOCIATION" of Sri Lanka. This
year was a challenging year for us as we
had to refresh the minds of our ex participants,
get together and start working. However I
am really happy to say that with great dedication
and determination from all of us made it
a reality. But still we achieved half way
and have lot of work to be done to make our
Association a very strong and powerful one.
This report gives a view of all the activities
for the past year.
I have no doubt that the SWYAA of Sri Lanka
were able to overcome the challenges with
the utmost co-operation of our members of
SWYAA.I wish to thank my colleagues for the
good work done.
In conclusion, on behalf of all the ex-participant
of Sri Lanka, I convey my thanks to everyone
for their continued support for the growth
of SWYAA Sri Lanka.

KEYPERSON-SWYAA SRI LANKA
AWARENESS PROGRAM ABOUT SWY PROGRAMM
This was the first project launched by us
because we thought giving knowledge and sharing
our experience about this program would be
important for the Youths of Sri Lanka. We
selected group of representatives from schools,
Youth clubs and conducted seminars for them
about the SWY program. Through them we were
able to aware many of youths of schools and
clubs. Later on the year we were able to
involve these youths for the activities done
by the SWYAA.
THE FUND RAISING PROJECT
We launched our second project in month of
March, which is a fund raising project. For
this project we printed stickers and bookmarks,
which has the amazing ship of "NIPPON
MARU" and the song "Sailing the
Blue..."(In the bookmark only). This
task became a quite easier with the involvement
of the youth from our first project. The
demand for the promotional materials were
very high among youths in schools.
Helping hand to Orphan Children
Third project was launched for the group
of orphan children in the city of "Kiribathgoda".
We delivered them with the textbooks and
other necessary equipments for the studies.
We continued this project for the whole year
and hope to continue for next year as well.
COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE FOR RURAL YOUTHS
In Sri Lanka Computer Knowledge is not much
spread all over our country, especially in
rural areas because of the financial problems.
Therefore we decided to launch a project
to give the knowledge of computer technology,
for youths in rural areas. For this project
we got the co-operation of our religious
places (mostly temples). This was the most
successful project we have launched for this
year because we were able to identify lot
of talented youths in Computer Technology
and were ale to direct them to the National
Youth Council for higher studies in computing.
Also this program helped us a lot in gaining
recognition for our association. The main
difficulty we had with this project was the
cost incurred for the personal computers.
We are hoping to continue with this project
for the coming year as well according to
our financial status and also greatly appreciate
your co-operation for this project.
